Olive and Reg (AKA Ann & Tony) on the bus |
Sadly the weather has taken a turn for the worse, a week of very heavy rain and storms. I’m afraid to say we’ve bin spoilt, 10 days or so with some wonderful Mediterranean sunshine on our backs. We’ve been so lucky with the weather to date that we forgot the reality, It’s March, and at this time of the year even this far south, it can get cold with prolonged periods of heavy rain.

During the time we’ve been here in Puerto Banus, we’ve gotten to know one or two of the staff at a local department store- Cortes Ingles (similar to John Lewis),who have taken to greeting us each time we enter the store crying out ‘Hi Antonnio and Ann, we’ve missed you’ -only joking lol, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.
We use the store to buy our provisions, it also has a restaurant cafe on the second floor that offers free wifi and it’s from here that we seem to spend quite alot of time accessing our computer and carrying out some of D I Cronin’s future investigative and dectective work. It’s really funny, on numerous occasions we’ve found ourselves leaving the store with the staff (it closes at 10pm), because we’ve been in the cafe that long using the computer, we lost track of time. I have to say there’s been a great temptation to stay inside the store and just retire to the bedding dept, right next door where they have some very fine beds. I’m sure they wouldn’t even notice or mind for that matter, but Ann isn’t up for it, can you believe it!!
We are now really looking forward to getting back on the bike and continuing our tour; We’re hoping the inclement weather will cease shortly, but according to the forecast it’ll remain wet and windy till next Tuesday 15th March, at which time we’re off, heading east, up the coast to Valencia - Our first destination will be the ancient City of Granada – bring it on.
We'd like to say a big thank-you toBarb and Chris for the use of their lovely apartment, which has been a great blessing and a safe haven after we aborted our planned visit to Morocco.
That’s all just now, and hopefully the blog will kick off again with our visit to Granada.
Lots of luv The intrepid Easy Riders xxx
Hi Antonio & Anio
ReplyDeleteSorry I havn’t got back to you sooner but as you well know the 14th to the 18th March is when I do my charity work for the local bookmakers. Yes you’ve guessed it.... “Cheltenham week” so you can imagine I’ve been a bit tied up. I won’t disclose how much I’ve won as I hate having to refuse begging letters, especially when they come from my best mate.
Well I see the weather has changed LOL. Let’s hope it picks up... as I’ve just received an invitation to be a special guest at the naming ceremony of P&O’s new Ship Adonia. Yes... I and a guest have been invited to this star studded event. Avril is so much looking forward to it... which could be a little embarrassing as I haven’t made up my mind up who I’m taking yet! That reminds me I must purchase a new DJ and trousers as I will be wanting to look my best when I meet “Dame Shirley Bassey”. (Sorry it must sound like I’m dropping names)!!!
Antonio looking at the photos I must say you are looking a bit rough around the edges, thankfully Ann’s gorgeous good looks draws the eye away..... from your ugly mush. Well as you can tell I’m still being nice to everyone.... so I’ll leave it there.
I hope Valencia is living up to your expectations and I do hope the sunshine finds its way there too.
Always remember this....
Take care my friends

Hi Anto and Ann,
ReplyDeleteGood to read you've managed to catch a bit of the glorious sunshine we're having back home, though latterly it sounds like you're suffering the affects of the dreadful tsunami which devastated NE Japan. Are you able to keep up with world news there along with sneakily sleeping in bedding stores and using wifi.
The UN is waging war on Libya and the good news is that Ireland beat England yesterday in the rugby. At least we held our own in the tournament. Nobody won the grand slam but England won the 6 Nations title and the games made for great watching.
Barb is over in Dublin until Tuesday. I just spoke with her and it's all going well enough. She says that Mam has put on about 2 stones in weight!!! If she keeps going she'll need a whole wing to herself at this rate. Sounds like her leg injuries are almost there too PG.
Carry on camping and keep us updated with all your latest adventures. Ann you look great and it's good to see you're keeping up the exercises....however Anto, you now look more like Capt Pugwash than ever! Ahoy Maties. Have a ball and be safe.
Bestest Love to you both and to the orphans back home. B & C and Clan
